Swatches: Sephora + Pantone Universe Elemental Molten Liquid Liners

I purchased this.

Sephora's sale shop recently had the Sephora + PANTONE UNIVERSE set of four Elemental Molton Liquid Liners on sale for $10. I saw some swatches of them, and knew I had to have them, if only for brown and sparkly blue colors.

The set contains four small liquid eye liners in brown, pale lilac, emerald green, and sparkly dark blue.

The liners don't have individual names, so I'm just going to go with "Brown," "Lilac," "Emerald," and "Sparkly Blue."

The liners are applied with a thin brush that leaves a nice, clean line. The liners dry quickly and don't stay in place without any bleeding, which is great for us "seasoned" ladies who have some lines around our eye areas.

Here are swatches taken in natural light, without flash:

These swatches were taken in the same lighting, but with a flash fill:

My favorite is the sparkly blue. It's what I'd call a deep, marine blue, and has a moderate level of micro-sparkles in it. It's not a glitter liner by any means, but will definitely provide a fetching touch of sparkle around the eyes.

I really like that the brown is the rich color of a bar of 70% dark chocolate; it's not too light and it's not a black-brown. I think I'll use it a lot when I'm doing brown-based neutral eye looks.

I don't foresee being able to use the lilac shade, but I'll give it a try at some point.

I don't wear green often, but I'll bet that green would look brilliant with a very soft, neutral eye. It'll give the brightest pop of color. The only thing I don't like about the Emerald is that applied to bare skin, it stains. In this photo, I had tried removing it with soap and water, used a sugar scrub after that, and then swabbed it with makeup remover on a cotton ball, and the stain wouldn't budge. However, when I applied it over a base (I used MAC Painterly Paint Pot), I was able to easily remove it with soap and water.

Unfortunately, this set is no longer available at Sephora. Now that the 2014 Pantone color of the year has been announced, I believe Sephora is trying to reduce inventory of their Sephora + Pantone Universe Emerald Green items, since it was the 2013 Pantone color of the year. There are still a number of Sephora + Pantone Universe Emerald Green items in Sephora's sale shop. This is the time to buy, because not only are they on sale, but Sephora is a rebate bonus shop currently through Ebates.com. If you purchase through Ebates right now, you'll get 8% back, and as we all know, every little bit counts! If you don't already have an Ebates account, feel free to sign up using my referral link.

What do you think of these Elemental Molten Liquid Liners? Are you particularly drawn to any of the four colors?

  1. Good little set for ten bucks! I bet the purple would look nice above a line of black liner and the blue is lovely!
