Swatches & LOTD: BFTE Summer Raes Collection

PR samples.

BFTE has a new collection for the summer called "Summer Raes." "Rae" is not misspelled--it's a tribute to the owner's mother, Rae. Summer Raes consists of six full size eyeshadows.

Today, I have pictures for you of all the shadows from this new collection, along with swatches, as well as a couple of looks I created using various shades from Summer Raes.

These are the colors in this summertime collection, as described on BFTE's site:

  • Catchin' Some Raes - a bold and icy blue with two different blue sparkles throughout
  • Fresh Cut Grass - a light and bright green with light green sparkles
  • June Bug - a light bronzed taupe with green and magenta sparkles
  • Liquid Sunshine - a slightly marigold yellow that blends into a soft golden sheen and hints of yellow and magenta sparkles
  • Picnic - an eggplant shade with a very slight brown tone and packed with red sparkles
  • Pink Lemonade - a very opque, vibrant, warm pink with pink sparkles

I did a couple of looks using the shadows from the Summer Raes collection. The shadows for this first look are the wrong tone for my skin, but it was still fun to wear a bright and summery look. For this look, I used Liquid Sunshine on the inner third (upper and lower), Fresh Cut Grass on the middle third (upper and lower), Catchin' Some Raes on the outer third (upper and lower), and June Bug to blend the colors onto my brow bone.

I liked this second look a lot more, as the shades are warmer and better with my skin and eye color. It was a very simple look with June Bug on the lid and inner 2/3 of the lower lash line and Picnic on the outer lid, outer third of the lower lash line and blended through the crease.

My favorite colors from this collection are definitely June Bug and Picnic, as they're the two that look best on me, although I think the entire collection is beautiful, and I love the way that Liquid Sunshine has a slight peachy-pink undertone to it.

The Summer Raes shades are sold as a collection for $32.50, which equates to $5.42 each, which is a good value. You can buy the set on BFTE's site here.

    1. Picnic is really pretty. I have so many purples, yet nothing quite like this one.
