Swatches: Baby Blush Lip & Cheek Tint from Darling Girl Cosmetics

PR samples.

Hi everyone! I know I've been absent from my blog for a few weeks. It's been a busy month!

I received samples today of a new product being released on August 1 by Darling Girl Cosmetics. They're called "Baby Blush Lip & Cheek Tint," a multi-use product that can be used as a lip and cheek stain.

There are four Baby Blush shades, and I have swatches below of all of them.

All swatches are on bare skin.

L-R: Bubble Tea, Dolly Wink, Right Meow, Too Cute

The top of each swatch has been blended out to show what it might look like when smoothed across your cheeks. The bottom of each swatch has been swatched without blending out to show what they might look when applied heavily to your lips.

While I have yet to give these Baby Blushes a full day test run, I put one on my lips as I was doing these swatches, and it feels super creamy and moist. My lips feel like I'm wearing a thin balm on them. The color definitely leaves a stain behind, as you can see in the below photo. This photo was taken after I had scrubbed my arm for about 60 seconds with antibacterial soap and water, then dried off with a paper towel. If that much color is left on my arm, I have a feeling that as a blush and lip tint, the color is really going to last!

Each Baby Blush will be available this coming Saturday, August 1 and will cost $10.50. Make sure you check Darling Girl's "What's New" page for them!

EOTD: Pink and Neutral with BFTE Cosmetics

PR samples.
I purchased this.

A couple of weeks ago, I got together with two of my good makeup buddies, one of whom is Kimberly from Libby's Pink Vanity blog, who also happens to be the owner of BFTE Cosmetics. Kimberly gifted the girls at the get-together with some BFTE eye shadows, including one from the limited edition Cursed collection called "Furies" (and Furies has now been made permanent!) and two from the Summer 2015 collection, called "Tan Lines" and "Life's A Beach." I thought these three shades would look really pretty if used together. (Thank you so much for the pretties, Kimberly!)

My lids have been looking extra-hooded lately. *sigh* This whole growing older thing is really taking a toll on my eyes.

EOTD: Pink and Taupe with Urban Decay and NARS

I purchased this.

My grandparents and aunt are visiting from Hawaii right now, and tonight, we had a birthday party for all of the grandkids and grandkids' spouses since we're all born within five weeks of each other. We had so much fun spending time together. A lot of my friends my age don't have grandparents and have even lost their parents, so I feel so blessed to still have both of my parents and my grandparents in my life.

Anyway, this is the look I wore today. I wanted to wear some new eye shadows that I hadn't pulled out yet. I've worn NARS Subra (the crease color) before, and it is most definitely a burgundy shade, so I was amazed at the taupey-purple tones it took on when paired with the peachy-pink of Firebird on the moving lid.

Here's a full face photo. It's not great since I took it in my car, my hair was still wet, it was raining, and I was using an iPhone. But it gives an idea of what the full look was like.

Swatches: Fyrinnae's Newest Eyeshadows

I purchased this.

Fyrinnae recently updated their site with several new eye shadows. I decided to pick up all of the new color, as well as a few recently released shades that I hadn't yet nabbed. Fyrinnae also sent me a freebie sample of an amazing Arcane Magic eye shadow called Incubus.

Click on the photos for a detailed, up-close view of each image.

Top row, L-R: Beyond Binary, Birb of Paradise, Capybara, Caramel Layer Cake
Bottom row, L-R: Celestial Beauty, Incubus, Istanbul, Vesuvius, Zanzibar

Bottom row, L-R: Celestial Beauty, Incubus, Istanbul, Vesuvius, Zanzibar

I've swatched all of the shadows from my latest Fyrinnae order below. They're all swatched over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy.

Top row, L-R: Beyond Binary, Birb of Paradise, Capybara, Caramel Layer Cake
Bottom row, L-R: Celestial Beauty, Incubus, Istanbul, Vesuvius, Zanzibar

Apologies that my swatches got a little sloppy. By the time I realized I'd messed up the edges, it was after midnight, I was tired, and I figured you'd still get the idea of what these colors look like whether the edges are even or not.

For a couple of years, I wasn't really digging the shades Fyrinnae was releasing. Then, all of a sudden earlier this year, the guys over at Fyrinnae started releasing the most amazing new shadows, and I just can't resist any of them!

All of these shadows are gorgeous, but the freebie they sent, Incubus, is hands-down my favorite. It's one of those "if I could marry it, I would!" eye shadows. Another favorite is Capybara, a beautiful, shiny, light aubergine. I'm also pretty excited about Istanbul, as it's a blue that I'm head-over-heels in love with. I don't typically wear blues, but Istanbul is a complex, denim blue that I can't wait to get on my eyelids. (I'm probably also drawn to it since Istanbul is by far the #1 place to visit on my travel wishlist.) anzibar is another standout. What doesn't come across in my swatches--sadly--is the heavy gold sheen that makes Zanzibar a truly stunning, warm teal. Several times since I received these shadows, I've done a quick, simple look using just Caramel Layer Cake as an all-over single wash of color on the lid combined with Zanzibar lining my upper lashes. It's a really pretty combo and perfect for summertime.

Birb is my least favorite shade because I rarely wear rich, deep blues of this sort--although as a liner, I have a feeling it'll be really pretty. Also, the fallout on this one was atrocious. It doesn't have the same "pebbly" texture that most of the other shadows have from the binders that Fyrinnae puts in them. Incubus didn't have the pebbly texture either, but I didn't have fallout problems with it. I guess Birb of Paradise is just short-bus special among this lot when it comes to the fallout.

As I post this, Fyrinnae's site is currently offline. They are stating they'll return by July 3, so if you don't have any of these colors, make sure you visit their site on or after July 3 and pick up a few. They're exceedingly pretty.

What is your all-time favorite "if I could marry it, I would!" eyeshadow?
